Carribean Calgary?
I met these three delightful ladies at Carrifest. Like everyone else they were enjoying the sunshine. They looked as if they were sitting in the shade of a palm tree at a market place in Jamaica or Trinidad or some other Carribean island instead of in the middle of downtown Calgary.

I take it that there's a large Caribbean population in Calgary?
ReplyDeleteThey look a little camera shy ::)))
ReplyDeleteVery dignified. lovely portrait.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like there is quite a large Carribean community. Do you have any cricket pitches there?
ReplyDeleteOne wouldn't believe it's in Calgary. Very lovely portait though.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture! And yes, I would never say the shot was taken in Canada... :-)
ReplyDeleteWe have many cultural groups in Calgary...Carribean's being one of them. It makes for a lively and diverse city which I love. And yes there are several cricket pitches in Calgary...mostly used by immigrants from the UK and the Carribean.
ReplyDeleteA Carnival in Calgary.. I thought it was a Rodeo town until now; London has a spectacular Carnival every year; see here: http://toothecrossroads.blogspot.com/search?q=carnival
